About your Home Inspection

home-inspection2Home inspections have become a standard part of most real estate transactions.

Home buyers know a pre-purchase inspection will enable them to make an informed buying decision and will protect their largest investment. A home inspection covers all the major systems in a home, including the structural, roof, exterior, plumbing, electric, and heating/cooling systems. My inspections take 3 to 4 hours for a 1500 to 2000 square foot home.  Larger homes obviously take longer to inspect.  This does not include the report preparation. A home inspection and report by a professional home inspector will almost always find items that need repair or improvement. Often the difference between inspectors is the quality of their reports.  I spend almost as much time preparing a report as I do inspecting the home.  My reports go beyond simply stating needed improvements and explain why an item should be improved, and possibly suggest solutions. My reports will provide valuable maintenance information and give you a better understanding of the systems in your home. My reports have numerous photos- an average of 40 for a 2000 square foot home (“a good photo is worth a thousand words”).
