My name is Randy West and I own and operate Professional Building Consultants, Inc. (PBC)  which is located in Prescott, Arizona.  PBC was established early in 1993, and inspecting homes and buildings has been (and is) my only business.  I have inspected thousands of homes in the Prescott area.

I perform two home inspections a day, one at 8:00 am and one at 2:00 pm. The on site home inspections take 3 to 4 hours, not including the time to type the report.

My reports are thorough and comprehensive, yet the computer generated narrative report is easy to understand (I describe my reports as a combination owners manual and honey-do list.) There are maintenance tips and definitions under each section, where they should be. (Not canned maintenance tips, but tips and advice written by me that apply to your new home and Prescott’s weather.)  The report is delivered or mailed the day following the inspection. The report can also be emailed if requested.

I am a Certified Arizona Home Inspector, (# 38451). All home inspections are performed in compliance with the Standards of Professional Practice for Arizona Home Inspectors. I do not work on homes I inspect (or any homes, inspecting in my only business), nor do I refer contractors or repairmen.  I have been inspecting homes in and around Prescott, Arizona since 1993.

I am a Certified Member of the American Society of Home Inspectors, ASHI (#102673). ASHI is the recognized leading organization of professional home inspectors. ASHI members have passed difficult exams and are required to take continuing education classes. ASHI’s Standards of Practice have become the national standard for home inspections, and in fact have been adopted by Arizona as the Standards of Professional Practice for Arizona Home Inspectors. While inspectors that are not ASHI members may advertise that their reports meet or exceed the ASHI Standards of Practice, you have no assurance they will and no recourse if they do not. Only ASHI members can use the ASHI logo; this is your assurance of quality.

I am also a member of the Arizona Chapter of ASHI. The Arizona chapter is large and very active, and has several education seminars each year. In fact, I am very involved with the chapter, having served as the Northern District Director, two terms as the Treasurer, and I currently serve as Vice President.

 

I am also a member of several other relevant professional organizations, among others the National Fire Protection Agency (they write the National Electric Code), International Association of Electrical Inspectors,  Arizona Board of Technical Registration Certified Home Inspector # 38451 etc.
